Hi,
Don't forget that scrolls include the passage scrolls for UW / FoW. I think is to compensate for the no longer constant favor.

Instead of double xp for vanquishing or scrolls or double eotn points they should do another SS/LB weekend it has been ages (since january) since they done that. Or they might wanna prevent doing that weekend because the favor is gonna raise sky high again.

If Anet felt compelled to 'compensate' us for the loss of favor they could just delete the favor concept altogether.
Scrollwise, I'd say Survivors can get one last shot at their max title, before HFFF and Irontoe's Dungeon will be changed after the delayed update of the 13th will go live.

scroll effects won't matter too much in fronis if theyre being extending mainly because it takes a good 10 minutes to do. Then it depends on what scrolls you use this weekend to get the most benefit

All I can say is vanquish is very much the same as dungeons, a long waste of time for very little reward. Doubling virtually nothing is still virtually nothing. Faction or reputation rewards are far better at least. Vanquishing on a double reputation or faction weekend is far better. Since they nerfed Ursan Blessing the favour of the gods took a dive and I supect that was due to a few whiners that could not get accepted into DoA which no one really does much anymore.

With the Double XP gain and Scroll effects lasting longer, sounds like Survivors will be out to play this weekend. Good for them and the vanquishers (I vanquish but I have not had time recently so probably wont be doing much in GW with this, this weekend)

Glad SOMEONE mentioned Survivors about this event. It was the first thing I thought of when reading this.
"Oh boy we'll see lots of 'xyz has reached Legendary Survivor. The Gods have extended their favor.' Prepare Gunnar's Hold for 10 districts."
Also: Time to finish up Vanquisher of Tyria and Elona.

^ Gold reward for vanquishing. Not gold items. As far as I know there's never been a "double chance of gold items drop" weekend. WTB that, btw.
Meh, my main is Legendary Vanquisher already. Sounds like I'll either be helping guildies out with some other character or messing around in RA.

What concerns me is the "certain areas" part of the statement. What areas are excluded?

Very true. It's a shame that when ANet nerf over-profitable activites like the SF UW run, they don't think to fix the problem that drives people to farm in the first place. Rewards are still at the level that was appropriate for NF, back when the most a player might aspire to would be a single prestige armour (was true of me, at any rate). They were never increased significantly enough for EoTN and it's HoM. It's also kinda crazy that you can make as much cash just spending 30 minutes clearing an easy normal mode area, as in a 2hr vanquish or dungeon quest.
Double or triple the *standard* rewards for Vanquishing (and dungeons, while they're at it) and then these weekends will actually be exciting.

Well, just off the top of my heads, they could improve vanquishing by...
a) Increasing the rewards all together so they aren't so... crappy. Maybe more exp/gold. Maybe a dungeon reward style chest spawns somewhere (with better rewards for harder areas, possibily even exclusive weapon skins that only drop in certain vanquishing runs, thereby encouraging people to vanquish certain places).
b) create some sort of target pinging system on the radar that activates automatically once you've killed like ~80% of the monsters in a zone (ie, you no longer have to waste a half hour running from one side of an empty zone to another trying to find that one random mob that you missed, but it instead shows you where to go).
c) provide a better group mechanic to allow players that want to vanquish to find each other.
d) provide numbers on the vanquish bar rather then a percentage. Right clicking the HM icon "you have killed 150 of 174 monsters in this zone, and there are 15 additonally pop ups still active in this zone." Rather then having to squint at that little bar and say "eh, it looks like I only have to kill another 5 or so monsters."
